one hardly knows how to take this seriously. parents who home school their children have by definition had several years to figure out how to motivate their students. the student is locked into a no escape environment with the ultimate authority figure, and sowell thinks these people are working hard. they maybe working a lot and under stressful conditions, but the have all the cards in their hands. a public school classroom is full of many students from many different backgrounds. ah hell, lets cut to the chase. if that home school parent is so good, drop them in the classroom in downtown cleveland or detroit and let them cut it. if you believe that then you are no doubt living well on you enron pension.
