Ma'am;... Allow me to add to your list.... To government I wish a heart... And to the citizens I wish a brain; because with that brain they would demand democracy.... And the reason is clear, that there are not any people anywhere not improved by democracy.... People do not demand stupidity, nor look for stupidity, nor accept stupidity, nor hope for stupidity so long as it is they who must suffer its consequences... We suffer the consequences of stupidity daily, but as long as we believe majority rule is the same as self government we will live with stupidity thinking the majority has inflicted it upon the minority, when we are both victors and victims in that particular crime...
