I had a buddy from up in Gladwin who served in Vietnam, and he told me about a CO he had once who was GI inside and out, and this guy was charging the enemy one time and he caught a bullet in his head, and my friend said it brought him to his knees, and it took his eye out, and he got up and kept going, and he never missed a minute of that war, but had the mess cleaned up, and wore a patch over it. And when ever his boss told him to do something stupid that was bound to get men killed for no gain, he would pick up that patch and reveal that empty socket, and say: I don't believe I see what you are getting at...SIR...
