Of all people, the guy that played Hawkeye on Mash TV show was on Tv and wailing that the top 10% pay 70% of the taxes. Also, he said he would cut government workers. Brother. What can a person say to this? The government workers certainly average at least $60,000 per year which puts them in the top ten percent. Some people just do not think.
If I was on that panel and the guy started shouting at me to shut up and buy the official propaganda, I would have said. "ok. I agree with you, the top 10% pay 70% of the taxes. That's one in ten adult americans. Ok, let's think this through. One in ten can go to a doctor if he needs to. One in ten lives in a house. One in ten earns more than $60,000 a year. One in ten thinks he won't have to fight when the civil war starts. One in ten can retire while the others suffer in poverty and sickness in their old age. One in ten takes vacations to europe or mexico."
For the 4th festivities, the military channel aired an old show about the revolution and read the declaration of independence all the way through. That's an eye opener. Check it out.
