900 Seconds of Posthumous Fame: In a 15-minute ceremony in 1998, Andy Warhol's Manhattan townhouse was designated as a cultural landmark by the Historic Landmark Preservation Center. Built in 1910, the five-story brick townhouse is on East 66th Street. Warhol owned it from 1974 until his death in 1987. He paid for it in cash. By the way, the ceremony was exactly 15 minutes long.
