FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — With three kids under 7 huddled around her legs, and an 8-month-old baby in her arms, Kerry Frain had her hands full Wednesday during the U.S. Open practice round at Bethpage Black.

Frain did, however, manage to get a couple of fingers free to grip her family's new prized possession — the golf ball Phil Mickelson had just handed one of Frain's three girls.
