Real Men

DEAR SUSAN: I'm 89, spent years in the work force, many of them in defense plants working side by side with men, doing the exact same things as they did but with one huge difference: Their pay was much higher than mine! That rankled me, especially when I was assigned to teach them my job, because I knew they'd be paid more than I would. However, shortly before I retired some progress was made, and both sexes began to be paid equally for the same work.

I think it is a ridiculous to quote only ONE study that shows that women, after accounting for all of their "faults" such as having children, actually make more than men. Recent studies (notice the plural!) show that women STILL only make 75% of what a man makes in the same job. I am 47, single with no children. How do you explain the pay differential when I have all of the "masculine" characteristics listed as positives in the study? There are times when I believe that you actually dislike women and think they are all whiners & complainers while men have it "right". Maybe you should write for mens magazines and continue to inflate their already overindulged egos & bash women so they can feel better about themselves.
