Man Vs. Bat

by Mimi Kopulos
Behind every great man is a great bat story. Those gray beady-eyed creatures have been around since prehistoric times. And man today, perhaps as in prehistoric times, will go to great lengths to protect his family from these fearsome mammals.

I have listened to my girlfriends tell grand stories about how their homes were under siege by the nocturnal creatures, and how their valiant men won the battle. Well, I, too, have a bat story, and behind this bat story are two great men: my husband and ...

Re: KC sorry, but I still think its cruel to kill an animal that means you no harm. I am not an animal rights activist in any extreme and not even a vegan - but there's a time and a place. In addition, bats are getting close to being endangered in various parts of the world, including the U.S. I don't think we are being overrun by insects - I am merely pointing out that they are a benefit to us, not an problem (or scary --ooooh). as for enjoying the whirpool bath and emerging unscathed - seriously, that you could actually believe it didn't drown -- come on... were it a rabbit - would you still think it so justifiable?

Hilarious! I can just picture the girls screaming. I read this, sitting here at work, giggling, with others looking at me like I'd lost my mind. I just smiled and said spreadsheets can be funny if you really think about it...

My wife and I enjoyed the "batty" story. Somehow, I don't see the world being overrun by insects now that the bat toured the porcelain palace. As a matter of fact, he may have enjoyed the whirlpool and bath and emerged on the other end invigorated.

I seriously hope that this was a joke and that you didn't flush a poor defenseless bat down the toilet. "Vampire" bats do not exist in major cities and are extremely tiny (and they usually only feed on cattle and other animals - taking tiny drops of blood). Bats are extremely beneficial in ridding us of annoying insects. you would have done better calling in some sort of animal control immediately instead of acting cowardly and cruelly. for shame. (and not at all humorous).
