In response to your column about holding chips in your hand, and dropping a few off the bottom, I have to tell you my experience. I play mostly tournament poker in Tribal casinos in Oklahoma. Every Tribal casino I have played in has implemented the rule, if your chips cross the line, you have bet them all. I too have seen players hold a stack of chips and drop a few off the bottom to call a bet. It is usually older guys like myself who have been playing in home games, or club games for years. It's a hard habit to break. But all of the Tribal casinos in Oklahoma, whether it be Osage, Cherokee or Choctaw, have a strict rule against this motion. Might be wise to inform your readers, that although there in no rule that forbids it, the poker rooms can and do implement their own rules. I have seen times when it was a very costly mistake to make, and very easy to avoid. Best to ask the dealer before the game starts.
