I've Got Some Bad News …

For the past 25 years I've greeted each day by finding out what's been happening in the world. My eyes still closed, I reach for the remote and click on my favorite morning news program, "The Today Show." RE: "This week, an expert advised taking your kids to the library, where, for free, they can "read" their way around the world, taking an adventure, if only in their minds. If you can sell that one to your kids, either you're a pretty persuasive salesperson, or your kids are pretty stupid." Hey Peter, your comment is insulting to kids AND their parents. I know lots of families who frequent libraries and their kids love reading everything under the sun and taking "virtual trips around the world" whether they can afford to travel in real life or not. Kids learn and grow as students AND as human beings by reading and learning, so don't imply that they're "stupid" for loving to go to libraries. There's a reason we've had libraries in our country for so many years, and it's not because people who use them, whether they're kids or adults, are stupid. Matter of fact, neither are you, so please think again before you print comments like these in the future...
