LW2 is helping to perpetuate the tiresome stereotype, that all guys are only after one thing. I'd like to smack him for helping to put pretty much all young women into this frame of mind. He's been on "more dates with her than anyone else" and yet is wondering why he still can't get her to put out. Hello....Perhaps she has intimacy and trust issues, perhaps moral objections.....or horror of horrors, maybe just she wants to get to know you better before becoming intimate? Some women actually expect real commitment and a real relationship before they'll crawl into bed with some guy. Shocking, I know. I have a word for ladies like that - responsible. I respect them a lot more than I do some slut who will let some guy jump her bones on the first or second time out. One could suggest that he have a long talk with her and find out what her expectations are, but I think he's probably better off just moving on and letting her find someone else who wants something serious with her, not just nookie.

LW1 is a dumbass and far too trusting. Enough said. If I were him, I'd write off all these so-called "friends," then start exploring my legal options for getting out of all that debt - bankruptcy perhaps?

You hit the nail straight on the head with LW1, Amy. This guy has victim inked on his head in big bold letter.
He cried either you my friend or her friend and they called his bluff. A true friend would see that this was a truly horrible break-up and this woman is not of great moral character.
Had it been me, these "friends" wouldn't even score a blip on my social radar the second they decided to keep in within MY social bubble. He need to move on.
i'm not a lawyer, but he does need some legal advice on how he can get SOME money back from her. I think she broke some law when she cleaned out his bank account.

If LW1 was stupid enough to set up a joint account with a woman who's $90,000 in debt and he could see that she was selfish from the beginning, maybe this experience will jar him loose from his fluffy pink vision of life. If she signed the note with him to pay back his grandmother, then he has a legal case against her. Otherwise, he should consider this an extremely expensive lesson - that is, if he learns from it.

LW2: I wonder if this guy ever considered that maybe the girl just doesn't want "no-strings attached sex"?
