Drink Tap Water for Your Health … and Wealth!

by Mary Hunt
It's difficult to pinpoint exactly when it happened, but sometime during the past decade or so, the general population of this country formed a belief that bottled water is better than tap water -- safer and healthier, too. This is right on! Much of this information was used in one of my projects for grad school. Tap water is the biggest myth there is. Americans need to wake up and stop buying every single thing that is shoved in front of our faces. You. Do. Not. Need. Bottled. Water. Period. If you seriously think tap water is bad, ask yourself what you drink when at a restaurant or bar. Surely you don't always order bottled water? Bottled water is needed ONLY when in areas where the tap water is deemed unsafe. When traveling locally, refill a bottle with chilled tap water. Also, you will save a lot of money, and most important, the environment has been irreparably harmed by individuals who choose to drink tap water. Millions and millions of plastic bottles lay unrecycled. Do you recycle any of the bottles? Didn't think so. And countless barrels of oil and fuel are used to fly, then truck, the bottled water from some pristine spring in fiji to your local Wal-Mart. that's just shameful and obnoxious.
