Just a note, we also became accidental Husky owners. Great with the kids, totally sweet, complete escape artists. They've broken out of 4 dog runs, each more sturdy, and the fifth, which has kept them in for about 6 months now, includes rebar sunk into the ground and woven through the 7 foot tall fence, as well as a lock on the gate, and barbed wire around the top. If Chinook stopped running away when she was a couple years old, I think you are VERY lucky!:) My girls are 7 and 5, and Avery (7), just stopped trying to get away regularly last summer, although she will still make a break for it if you aren't paying attention to her when she is loose in the backyard. I think it is because Huskies were bred to be independant and nomadic, so they only care a little about making thier people happy, and aren't even the least bit territorial.
