Dear Annie: My daughter-in-law is a danger to herself and others. "Dotty" has been repeatedly arrested for drunk and/or disorderly behavior. She physically hurts her 6-year-old son, and verbally abuses and physically beats on her husband. He and others have called the police on her, and she has spent some time in rehab. But she is in denial that she has a problem. Her young child is suffering because of her antics and, of course, so is her marriage.
Dotty says the doctors hav ...

Highlighting words in something I'm trying to read with advertising links is obnoxious. I will stop reading your site.
And as for having the word pregnant link to an abortion site. That is totally immoral. Regarlessd of whether or not you think abotion to be acceptable. To link to that when the person clicking could be trying to get pregnant, or pregnant with a much wanted baby she is in danger of losing could cause horrible emotional damage.
Shame on you.

I'm concerned that the wife is physically hurting her child and dad and grandma are accepting it as " too bad." Even verbal abuse leaves scars. Grandma should contact child protective services if there is actually physical abuse going on and let her wimpy son take care of himself.

Re: BB
I am concerned that these women would tell this grandmother to stay out of it. Yes, stay out of the marital side of it...but not the abuse or suspected abuse of the child.
Most ( if not all states ) require that ANYONE who suspects abuse has to report it.
Sure, stay out the marital issues, but call social services, report your suspicions, before it is too late!

I think that "Concerned Grandma" sounds more like a "jealous interfering monster-in-law on a mission to destroy her sons marriage". It would be really interesting to hear other side of the story....

Of course everyone should report to social services if he/she witnesses child abuse that is common sense, and if that really happened I wonder why Grandma didnt do that already? I suspect she didnt do it because this is not happening and she is just bashing her daughter-in-law. Her question is not even about well being of the child but about how to badmouth her daughter-in-law and end their marriage.
