Um...re: LW1, his girlfriend is 32 and is just STARTING her professional career? Unless she's training to be a surgeon, I'd say she should have started her career about 5+ years ago. WTH has she been doing all this time? Probably waiting for this guy to propose, she got sick of waiting and decided to (finally) do something for herself. Sort of. Definitely ditch her. I'm curious though, if her sister has the same issues as far as leaning on her parents for support. Oh well, seriously ditch her.

Re: Jennifer________ I don't know... I started my professional career at 38 because this career requires a doctorate, and I couldn't afford either to go to college right after high school, or get a Master's right after college, or go back for the doctorate right after I finished my Master's. I had to work in between all the educational levels for at least a couple of years as well as during pursuing all the consecutive degrees, which definitely added time to me completing them. While all of these jobs definitely contributed to my gaining experience, they weren't part of what I now consider my real career. I think the woman in the letter has other real issues, though. At 32, her parents should not be paying her bills. I agree that the guy should definitely ditch her.
