Dear Froma: Why in the world would you not want to see his latest movie? Isn't that kind of like saying you don't want to watch the news because you don't like what you will see? I don't much like some of Mr. Moore's strategies either, but his movies reflect his strategies only in the facts he chooses for them to display. They are facts none the less, and you won't see them in many other media. Open your eyes, babe.

Froma Harrop, you said one of General Motors' "biggest problems was the bountiful contracts it had negotiated with unions." But didn't G.M. lay off workers despite making profits? You should view ROGER AND ME again and do some research. The only reason G.M. went bankrupt because it built lousy cars fewer and fewer people were buying. Look it up for yourself and tell me if that is not so.
You also said, "(I)n 2000, when the little guy needed Al Gore to become president . . . Moore backed Ralph Nader to teach the Democrats a lesson." You are the one who needs a lesson, Ms. Harrop. The Clinton administration, which included Al Gore, did things for the little guy such as raising minimum wage 90 cents an hour over eight years and sending his job out of the country via the N.A.F.T.A. debacle. No wonder the vote was so close - who could tell Gore and George W. Bush apart? And if you think I would have voted for Al Gore were Ralph Nader not running, you aren't thinking much.
