Moreover, the US needs godly intercessors now (as does the UK) as never before like Chaplain David Avery, of Norwich, Connecticut, who "[supplicated] the blessing of Heaven to crown our unworthy arms with success" on behalf of the fledgling American army fighting desperately to resist the Redcoats' advance up Breed's Hill on June 17th, 1775. It was a Pyrrhic victory for the Redcoats who lost 1054 men in dead and wounded compared to the Americans' 449 and the battle is believed to have psychologically stunted British military endeavours in the war thereafter. The action is of course best known as the battle of Bunker Hill, which just happens to be the name of the height where Chaplain Avery took up his stance to intercede for his comrades-in-arms.
