This may be from left field, but the young lady who gets sick on the weekends could be suffering from withdrawal from something she has contact with at work. I worked with a lady who got terrible coffee withdrawal symptoms on her days off. Or, it could be something in their apartment that bothers her when she is around it for as long as a weekend. Don't give up looking for a physical cause and do explore emotional ones, too.
