Lytia's punishment sounds like what my normal routine was at her age: I must spend at least two hours per night on homework, and I've got to be in bed at 10 every night with the lights out. I wasn't a grind, but it usually took me that long to do routine homework. As for a phone, back in the 1950s there was one phone in the house and we were told to get off almost as soon as we started talking. If she lives like this, her life will have far less chaos and far more opportunities will open up for her.
