Um, Larry Meeks must not read and have never listened to Bill Cosby, for Bill Cosby says almost exactly what he says verbatim.
Before anybody takes any advice Larry Has, Larry should get what the so called "leaders of the Black community" are saying and make sure to agree with the ones he does agree with and avoid slamming those he agrees with.
Larry you and Bill Cosby are identical on the issues. This column is an embarrassment to your career.

Re: jonathan seer
ummm, jonathan, dear, please work on your reading comprehension skills. Larry Meeks is a big fan of Bill Cosby and always has been. You would know that if you read some of his previous work. Moreover, Larry was not saying that he, personally, felt that Bill Cosby should be discredited, but that rather, black leadership, which gains fame, power and money through race-baiting, feels the need to discredit people like Bill Cosby. If the so-called "Black Leadership" of America (e.g., Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc.) admitted that there was any truth to the words of people like Bill Cosby and Larry Meeks, they would lose their current gravy train, their ticket to riches and prestige that is, in reality, enourageing racism, strife, contention and division.

Larry, i just read your negative comments about Professor gates. Your comments are out of place. Law enforcement across the country have a history of mistreating people of color. You sound like a right wing Clarence Thomas negro who think this country has the same rules for everyone. The statistics on record say you are wrong.
I'm proud of Professor gates for standing up for himself. No more yesa boss.

Re: SarahM. Precisely. I don't know what the hell is wrong with the other two commenters here - John Seer doesn't read for meaning, and I'd love to ask Donald the same question I asked a poster here last week, "How do black cops fit into your 'racist law enforcement' scheme?" It's hard to talk about a good ol' boys network when some of them are the same color as the "victim," isn't it? I had a Hispanic friend who used to rant and rant about this; it's an attitude common among minorities and one that I find very tiresome. It all goes back to looking for an excuse to blame someone else for your problems. Minorities have an easy way to do this - their color. By placing the blame for your misfortune somewhere outside yourself, by screaming "racism!" you avoid having to make any changes in your outlook or behavior...or take any responsibility for your actions. Human nature at its finest on display. If I had a genie in a bottle, one thing I would wish for is to NEVER again have to hear about "discrimination" from a member of any racial minority. I would also wish for these people to visit a Balkanized or African or Middle Eastern country so that they can see what real prejudice looks like.
