I especially love this: "her becoming sober will create awkwardness" no shit sherlock, she'll realize what a dumpster you are and get her act together, and I don't mean just getting sober either. Looks like if she had been sober in the first place, you'd never gotten a chance with her at all. To me, if she has any hope of getting straight again, she'll go through whatever intervention you plan for her, and then once sober, promptly dump you.
