Bad News Bares

I'm a single, divorced mother who met a wonderful man. Last week, he wanted me to come over. Because of my children, my only option was to pop by during my son's junior high baseball game. I dropped my son off, but instead of parking and watching the game, I drove to this man's house and we had sex. Afterward, I rushed back to the game and caught the last part. My son said he didn't see me in the stands, and asked where I was. I don't know if he thinks of his mother as a sexual person, so I d ...

Re: Matt --- Really? Lack of maturity? Both women have children. LW1 has been married, divorced and has a child old enough for middle school. LW2 is married and has children although we don't know their ages. Sure lack of maturity may be a factor. But surely even lw1's son would recognize his mom's behavior as being wrong. At what age does someone become responsible for his or her behavior? If you're old enough to make a baby, you're old enough to be held responsible for your actions. It just seems there is this expectation among so many people nowadays that they can behave any way they want and no one should say anything because it's none of their business. Meanwhile, the kids get messed up emotionally.

I'm 58 and I fondly remember the 70s, those wild and crazy times pre-AIDS. That said, LW1 has made herself nothing but a booty call for this "wonderful man." Not only that, but she drove herself to his place. How convenient for him. I doubt he'll ever ask her out for a real date, the kind where he takes her to a nice place and pays for it. She needs to do some serious backpedaling if she wants anything else out of the relationship. No more, just come over and hang out. She won't get respect unless she demands it.

Both letters are from women who have no morals. What is happening in society that extra-marital sex enters the picture at all? When the people involved have children, don't they know their kids come first? Ok, maybe your parents have been bad role models in this area. So change that pattern and be better role models for your own kids. Or you may end up being a grandparent soon after your child hits puberty. I hate this idea so many people have that they can misbehave and yet expect better behavior from their kids. It's the old "Do as I say, not as I do" method of child rearing and it just doesn't work.
