I can't believe this lady hasn't simply called the police and/or gotten a restraining order against this William fellow. He sounds mentally unstable and downright creepy.

LW1 has been an idiot. What the heck was she thinking about, responding to this guy? Especially once she'd moved away. As for not changing her number, that's ridiculous. She's not taking this seriously and at a certain point, she's certainly part of the problem. When someone is a creep, after telling them clearly once, you address it legally. She probably enjoyed the "I love you" aspect and "complaining" to her friends. She needs to tell the police, change her number and keep it unlisted, and move again. No, it's not fair, but she's dealing with a nutcase. This is a serious crime in the making.

Of course you can change your phone number. Just let everybody who needs to get in touch with you know. You can even buy one of those disposable cell phones to use until you get the new number out to friends & family. She needs to print out copies of all texts from him; try to record and save phone messages and take them to the police department. All somebody needs to find you is your name and state where you live. They might have quite a few people with your name to plow through but ages are included which can help them. They can even get data on your neighbors and contact them somehow. www.anywho.com is an AT&T site.

LW1 sounds as if she has enjoyed, for the most part, having a stalker-or maybe it was a partner in a relationship? Why would she only block his number and not change her own? Did she think he could not call her from any other phones? Why would she want him to have her number? Then when she moves away she actually RESPONDS to him! I am thinking maybe now she wants to paint him as a stalker instead of admitting to perhaps a husband that she enjoyed the attention. The number should have been changed and at the same time the police should have been involved. This disgusts me because there are people out there that are terrified that some nutcase they ran from is going to find them.
