poor wedding planning if the wedding came before the divorce, since it was described as such an elaborate affair there would be little point in canceling the celebration that was already paid for... at least the minister didn't come out and say that they just didn't want to get married... more than likely when they are (were) actually able to marry, it would be in a small private ceremony since the big celebration has already been done

as for the birthday gift... while it was rude of the mother to complain about the gift, it was also rude and extremely insensitive of the family members who called to report on Mom's rudeness...

i just came on this site looking for something i am probably in the wrong place as uaual but, ann landers had a column a long time ago with a thing by an unknown author about special childern . it was rewritten 14 years ago just when my grandchild was born with down syn. it helped my daughter very much as she was just 19, i have since lost this paper . can anyone find it for me. it was very special to us. thank you for listining to me and i hope you can help. maxine
