I think the husband is probably an alcoholic. Having great fun when drunk, such as skinny dipping on a dare, is just something he enjoys -- whether the wife's with him or not. Alcoholism is legendary for being progressive and also for delaying maturity. I definitely would have suggested that Wet Hen look for an Al-Anon Family Group and start learning what she can and can't control or change.
