This event is set in the lush surroundings of the Shenandoah Valley in the shadow of Skyline Drive. Located 90 minutes west of Washington DC at the junction of Interstates 81 and 66 this is an easy race to get to. Embraced by the town of Luray you will be treated to a course that features 2 loops of each event (2 loops of the swim, 2 loops for the bike and the run). The swim takes place in pristine Lake Arrowhead and the bike is rolling with a couple good hills thrown in. This is an absolutely outstanding event that you will want to come back to every year. There is also a sprint distance event on Sunday for those that want to race twice in a weekend or have a spouse or friend that is not up for the international distance event.
