Steve Sack has been the editorial cartoonist for The Minneapolis Star Tribune since 1981.

A native of the Twin Cities, Steve was born in St. Paul, Minn. in 1953. His newspaper career began while attending the University of Minnesota, where he illustrated features and drew editorial cartoons for the school paper, The Minnesota Daily. Two years later, he was hired as staff cartoonist for the Fort Wayne, Indi., Journal-Gazette.

After three years, Steve returned to Minnesota to join the Star Tribune. He has won assorted awards and accolades for his editorial cartoons.
In his free time, he enjoys oil painting. Steve lives in the Twin Cities with his wife, Beth.



Craig MacIntosh was born in Long Beach, Calif. in 1943. He grew up in a Navy family and lived on both coasts as a child and considers Honolulu his hometown. He graduated from Radford High School in 1962 and went to University of Illinois, graduating in 1966 with degree in Fine Arts.

Craig was drafted that fall and spent three years in the army, with the last year in Vietnam as a platoon leader. When he returned home, he began work as an editorial cartoonist with the Dayton, Ohio, Journal Herald until 1975.

In 1975, he moved to Minneapolis to become the editorial cartoonist for the evening Minneapolis Star and then continued with the merged Star Tribune. In 1986, he and Steve Sack joined to create the children’s cartoon feature "Doodles." In 1992, he left the paper to work full time on the syndicated cartoon strip "Sally Forth," as well as continuing with "Doodles."

Craig is married, with two adult children who live in Minneapolis. He has published two books of drawings of historic buildings in Dayton and Minneapolis. He enjoys working with bronze sculpture and watercolor paintings.
