For the one or two people in the universe who might care, the manure spreader was actually invented in the 1890's in Maria Stein, Ohio. A school teacher, Joseph Oppenheim invented the machine to keep his students attending school. At various times of the year they missed school to spead manure by hand. At least that's the local legend.
